March 2008

If 60 % of the people could not read, the government would do something, the same if 60% of the people were sick. Yet 60% of the people are not voting and the governments continue to do less than nothing. Less than nothing is been in the position to do something and not.

Spending the tax payers money on  the golden geodesic dome to keep the dignitaties warm and dry in Squandering square during events seam to me to be a tad wasteful for a city. Would it not be more wizr to use such money to invest in the principles of Democracy. Just look at the voter turnout, that is where investments should be made. Wize investments to get people to vote and participate in that which is named Democracy.

Democracy seams to be vanishing as encumbants think of new and improved nefarious ways to unlevel the candidate playing field, all while making sure only thier patrty faithful make it to the polls.

What is needed in Edmonton, Alberta and Canada is some incentives for the non-voter to get off the couch, away from the screen, and make it to the polls so we can name it Democracy.  Has some of my ideas on how to improve the voting record.

Instead we have more squandering in squandering square(Churchhill square), finace ministers picking fights with provinces, and a party in Alberta saying 20% support is a resounding Mandate, while a crisis in Democracy continues to unfold with voter turnout going down and down.

It looks as if in Edmonton, and in alberta, and maybe even in Canada the non-voter needs the old kick in the ass, as the government that likes Democracy where less and less people voting would say. Yes the Barbarians that hate voters, like to call elections in winter, make sure the playing field is unfair, buy off the media, and stack the deck whichever way they can, and they still call it Democracy, and overwhelming mandates when less than 20 % vote the Barbarian party in. When less than 50 % vote in provincial elections and less than 30% vote in civic elections, there should be another election.

The provincial government could very easily implement a tax rebate system for those that vote in civic elections.

Or perhaps a tax credit incentive to get people out to the polls, where when one votes, they are given a $50 tax rebate when income taxes are filed. Similar to a GST rebate check, indexed to paychecks and perhaps more non-voters would make it to those polls. That combined with proportional representation would perhaps make it so OVER 50% of the people were voting, and then everyone could actually name it a democracy where democratic is the rule of law.

Provincial Democratic reform.
0 Proportional representation.
1 fixed election dates in the late spring or summer when its warm.
2 Actual campaign reform consisting of
a equal media access for candidates
b equal campaigning funds coming from a general fund.
c Public list of which candidates raised how much for the general fund, with a public list of any doner who contributes in the name of which candidate both listed online and updated daily.
d $50 tax rebate issued to those that vote, so an incentive is there for people to vote.
e extend poll times to be open during the entire election!

3 look at making voting easier by looking into and implementing online voting, voting by phone, voting through bank machines.

Perhaps when those Democratic reforms happen and more than 50 % of the people vote in elections, those candidates will actually be standing for what they believe in instead of just standing for votes. . .

A Pair rant ley the currunt Mayor Tax and spend of Edmonton has had a brilliant tax and spend proposal for your pockets! Yes indeed, far more important than environmentally friendly power is a geodesic dome in Squandering Square(Churchhill Square) to keep the elected dignitories warm in winter!

Yes indeed, Edmonton winters are cold beyond belief, with snow piled so high, one would think it was an ice age blowing in with that snow storm. Edmonton has of course lots of carnivals and such in Squandering Square, and those elected ones need lots of tax dollars to keep warm during such events. And of course, that $200,000 or more coming from the overtaxed voters pockets would probably buy 200 kilowatts of clean wind power generation according to

Hmmm, elected ones warmth vrs clean power. . . I predict the elected ones warmth comes first! Again and again and again. . . .

Nanites are machines so small one can not see them with just eyes. One needs powerful microscopes to see things built on the nano-meter scale. Nanites will radically change everything. I read a few years ago that the University of Edmonton had ten tunneling scanning electron microscopes installed in a special building inside a building to research nano machines. the building inside a building is built so that vibrations from traffic and other such things do not effect what they do there on the nano scale or smaller.

Like Nuclear materials nanites can have benificial ro detremental effects for humans and the planet.

For example. A Swarm of medical nanites could be injected or injested into a body to kill cancer dead. Or different medical nanites could even fix bones, remove unwanted buildups from arteries and perhaps even help speed up thinking processes in the brain. these are all benificial examples of nanites. Nanite windmills to generate electric power, nanite assemblers to build computers, are again, more examples of beneficial use of nanite technology.

Then there is the evil use of nanites, like spying nanites, and nanites that can cause heart attacks, or nanites that just keep destroying a brain, or nanites that seek out enemy troops and kill them dead by other nefarious ways and means. Or nanites that instead of helping food crops grow, make they die. Technology can be either good or bad depending what use us humans put it to.

What is been researched there, good or bad uses for nanites? And of course it is not the only nanite reacher center on this planet, there is others. What the heck are they doing at those facilities? Is this knowledge kept from us, and if so why? Is there a world organization that watches nanite development like there is for nuclear materials? If not why? For nanites can be more dangerous than nuclear weapons ever could. At least a nuclear weapon is large, takes up a vast amount of space, and gives off detectable quantities of radiation, unlike a  so small you can not see it nanite.

All nanites should be tagged, regesitered, and open to public scrutiney, wherever they are built or are. Just like nukes, Locations, amounts and types of all nanites should be tracked and recorded with verifiable accounting proceedures open to public viewing by anyone. anything less is detrimental to the human species. Avian flu would be nothing compared to a self replicating nanite on a mission to seek and destroy humans. One is all it would take. Hopefully this science “fiction” horror never happens.

I, myself perfer the benign type of nanites, like the ones that kill cancer cells.

Shows that Premier Barbarian did indeed achieve the lowest voter turnout in a provincial election this millenium! Its a record he should be ashamed of! But of course Premier Barbarian will use the record lowest voter turnout ever in this millenium to proclaim he has a mandate to tax and spend all those tax dollars untill there is nothing left to show for it , but a ravaged environment wherever there is resources that a company can exploit!

Premier Barbarian will of course and has proclaimed his record lowest wining vote total ever (only about 20% of the people actually voted for the Barbarian party) as a resounding victory. victory for Who, I must ask? For a record lowest voter turnout ever is not a victory for Democracy. Maybe a victory for BARBARIANISM, which of course despises Democracy, and wants people to Not vote.

It looks as if the winds will be turning more bitter and polluted in Alberta.

Yes indeed, the proof is over at youtube, here on this blog. Proof I was righty in naming him PREMIER BARBARIAN!

For PREMIER BARBARIAN did indeed, just as I predicted, achive the lowest voter turnout ever in this millenium!

The fractured opposition that can not work together, along with winter helped achive the resounding 20% of the vote victory.

The non-voters won again, for thier record almost 60% not turning out to vote insures they once again have no representation in the legislature.

Also, 1/2 of the vote counters having ties with the premiers office probably helped.

Yes, in riding after riding, if one adds up the opposition votes, its a victory, if they only ran one candidate instead of 4 or 5. indeed, the fractured opposition votes insured the sweeping majority for the Barbarian party!

It looks like it is time for a Provincial Alberta Bloc, composed of people that can work together. Green, wild rose, liberal, new democrat, independant, all would be welcome to work together until the Barbarians are defeated!

My favorite eleciton video from the Alberta election
